mophie at South By Southwest | Experiential Event
South by Southwest (SXSW), the annual music, film and technology mega-conference in Austin, Texas is a massive gathering where entrepreneurs, tastemakers and assorted creative types come to schmooze, self-promote and get their brains rearranged by new music while business and networking opportunities thrive at the Trade Show and beyond.
“mophie”, the maker of battery-charging smartphone cases, enlisted six leather-clad motorcyclists to drive Indian Motorcycles with adorable doggy rescue St. Bernards around downtown Austin, Texas to aid trade show attendees with depleted or dead batteries. These SXSW attendees were then encouraged to swing by “mophie’s” festival headquarters and visit the fictionally but aptly named "Bad to the Bone Bar" lounge, an experiential street activation event located in downtown Austin which was designed and styled after a traditional biker joint.
Attendees could visit the pooches (including four puppies) while also interacting with mophie products. The SXSW St. Bernard street activation was bolstered by a brand awareness campaign including expanded social media and consumer engagement platforms.
